About

The artist at work with circular artworks

Luca Turelli was born in Pisa on 16 December 1983. A graduate in Building Engineering and Architecture from the University of Pisa, he also attended classes at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence independently and has always been passionate about art.

His dual perspective is reflected in a practice founded on the interplay of different disciplines and on the dialogue and tension between diverse forms of expression. His material of choice is glass: through its transparency and reflections, Turelli creates dreamlike works in which contrast is a constant thread.

In his creations, ancient glassworking techniques engage with contemporary lighting technologies, bringing craftsmanship and sculptural expression into balance. In this process, the brilliance and transparency of glass are boldly juxtaposed with humble, opaque materials, heightening the expressive force of each work.

Today, his works — installations, sculptures and paintings — can be found in private residences, yachts and galleries around the world. Over the years, he has taken part in numerous exhibitions and collaborated with architecture studios and collectors internationally.
